Play has so many positive benefits for children. While we do offer play invitations and adventures, we are a child-led environment, where we value your child and their autonomy. We find playing in nature to be calming, relaxing and nurturing. We see problem solving, oral language improvements, resilience improve, opportunities for fine and gross motor development, friendships, confidence. Wild Gully staff are trained and will also advocate for your child and their rights to play.
-
We welcome our friends with a NDIS plan to join us during our nature play sessions. Please complete our intake form if you require an invoice to be generated for your session. Our sessions are child-led and play based in nature with some resources, storytelling, hikes (if able to participate) and play options offered. We don't offer therapy as such, however we recognise the huge benefits from playing, being in nature playing and interacting with others. I am a trained Early Childhood Teacher with two decades of experience supporting children.

We are hoping our older friends are able to be dropped off at some point to support and encourage independence. We usually we would prefer at least one adult to stay with their children up to the age of 4 years. We hope to create a community where adults can also network and support each other and join in the play. Please message us if you have further questions regarding this. Some of our holiday sessions for our older children are drop off options. You know your child and what is the best option.
-
Great question. We love babies to enjoy our sensory and play sessions. They are fabulous for socialisation, and not just for the bubbas. When you join as a member, you can then use the discount code to book you and your bubba into our Little Explorers sessions.

As we are a mobile and outdoors program, we value the learning and development in all weather events. We will however work with the council and the emergency response when the weather turns nasty. We will make a call on the morning of the event at 8am and offer refunds or a make-up session. But seriously, who doesn’t love jumping in puddles? We have a ‘severe weather policy’, which we refer to in these circumstances and if concerned will make a call at 8am the morning of the event to cancel. However, we have only called of ONE event in 12 months and that was due to lightning. Also tip, you do not get sick from the rain.
-
As we are a mobile, outdoor service, we unfortunately cannot offer this service. We will have spaces available for you to safely and hygienically attend to your child. We are mindful to leave a minimal carbon foot-print when we leave the venue. We are also in a public space where toilets are available for adults and children.
-
You are able to cancel or re-schedule your booking yourself from your original booking e-mail. We are unable to offer a credit due to absenteeism. If the session is cancelled due to a weather event, you can receive a credit for future sessions. As per our cancellation policy, if we receive notification under 24 hours, we are able to off 50% refund if requested. You are able to reschedule your session, or do a catch up at the end of the term. Just message for more info.
-
We have a strict risk assessment created with our insurance company and local council that we adhere to. We have incident reports and systems in place when medical support is required. However, as part of normal childhood development your child will most probably fall, and receive a scrape or bruise. Being able to get up and carrying on is part of encouraging resilience. We will try our best to let you know about these, although they might be a great conversation starter of what great adventurers and memories were created when they got that bruise. You will be advised of any head bumps if you are not in attendance. Falling helps children to know where their body is in space.
-
Great question. Your child will need one or two spare set of clothes, or swimmers and towel if we are in shallow water, (although we won't be swimming as such) closed shoes for all activities, gum boots if it has been raining, gum boots, hat, water bottle, snack, sun screen & insect repellent. If there is any other information we should know, please include if on your booking form.

While we acknowledge and appreciate the positive impact of play and spending time in nature, we understand that it may not always be the best fit for every child. In such instances, we are more than willing to suggest alternative local services that might better suit your child's needs and preferences. Our primary goal is to ensure your child's well-being and development, and we are committed to offering recommendations that align with their interests and requirements. We would prefer to know this.
